Matt joined the SSHSA (as its first-ever) executive director in 2007. Prior to joining SSHSSA, he served as the executive director of the Park-McCllough House Association of North Bennington, VT. Previously he served as director and then president of the Michigan Historic Preservation Network in Lansing, Michigan. Matt’s professional experience also includes 15 years in business as director of marketing for Word Pictures in Warren, Michigan, and also director of Constellation Films, Inc.
Originally from Michigan, Matt received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Detroit and Masters in Historic Preservation from Eastern Michigan University in 1997. Matt also studied at Disney University and participated in several National Trust Conferences. He is an active member of many organizations including Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club, the Antique & Classic Boat Society, Council of American Maritime Museums and the Warwick Country Club, among others.
